I’m working on a client site for SSD at the moment and trying to install a WordPress blog. When using Cpanel with Fantastico with my preferred web host its not a problem at all. Without Fantastico its still pretty easy using The WordPress 5 minute install, since all you have to do is create a DB using CPanel and create a user.
With GoDaddy things are not so easy. I believe its a standard web hosting plan from Godaddy. I attempted to use the auto installer that they provide. Seemed easy enough, but it failed. So what is one to do now? You would think you just create a new Database and database user. That is the case but creating the user is not so easy. It looks like you have to utilize PhpMyAdmin. I think most would get lost at this point. I can get it done, but I prefer easy, and I would recommend easy.
This gives in my opinion yet another vote for the service I use and feel is the best webhost. I can tell you that I have installed many instances of WordPress and other platforms quite easily using this hosting platform. Godaddy is OK and I can work with them but I’d rather things move along more swiftly than needing to resort to contacting support or using knowledge base files for something that could be much easier.
